Over 2.50 Lakh Units Of Redmi 4A Sold In Just 4 Minutes

Chennai: Chinese handset merchant Xiaomi on Thursday reported the offer of 2.50 lakh in addition to units of its most recent model 'Redmi 4A' in only four minutes through web based business goliath, Amazon.

"250,000 units sold in 4 minutes. Redmi 4A," Xiaomi India Overseeing Chief, Manu Kumar Jain said in a tweet.

"#Redmi4A:250K units sold in 4mins. @amazonIN saw 5million hits/minute; top 1500 requests/sec," he said.Responding to the tweet, Niti Aayog President, Amitabh Kant said Xiaomi's future is here in India rather than China.

"Quite clear that Xiaomi's future is here in India! Disregard China!," he said in his tweet.Priced at Rs. 5,999, the 4G-empowered Redmi 4A will help the organization contend forcefully in the sub Rs. 7,000 classification that is principally commanded by Indian players like Micromax.

It highlights a high limit battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor and a 13MP camera.

Xiaomi has joined forces with Foxconn to set up its second assembling unit in India at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh.

The handset creator had entered India in July 2014 and began nearby assembling just once again a year later.

The new office will be selective to Xiaomi, while the more established one may see Foxconn making handsets for different merchants as well.
